Brokerage fee calculator

A calculator for credit brokers: model your fees as a percentage of the capital or as a flat amount, add the bank commission from your agreement, and get your total revenue per file. The computation includes your fees in the client’s APR and checks that the financing plan stays under the usury ceiling: your remuneration must fit, not sink the file.

The broker’s two revenue sources

An IOBSP broker’s remuneration combines client fees, freely set but framed (usually 0.8 to 1.5% of the capital, often with a flat minimum around €1,500 to €2,000), and the bank commission set by the partnership agreement, generally 0.5 to 1% of the released capital, sometimes capped. Both must appear in the mandate and be disclosed to the client transparently: combining them is legal, opacity is not.

The golden rule: nothing before fund release

Article L.519-6 of the French monetary code forbids collecting any sum from the client before funds are actually released. No deposit, no upfront file fee, whatever the wording. Invoicing only triggers at funding: it is a regulatory lock your management tool should enforce technically, not merely mention.

Your fees enter the client’s APR

As soon as intermediation conditions loan access, brokerage fees enter the APR. On a small capital or short term, standard fees can be enough to approach the usury ceiling and make the file unfinanceable as is. The calculator displays the APR with and without your fees: you immediately see the available margin and can adjust your grid before bank submission.

Frequently asked questions

The French market mostly sits between 0.8% and 1.5% of the borrowed capital, with a flat minimum for small files. The right level depends on your added value (file complexity, debt consolidation, non-standard profiles) and on the available usury margin. What matters is a consistent grid, justified in the mandate.
